Si Pengbo, Director of the BJUT International Office and Dean of the College of International Education, Fan Yuan and Zhang Bo, Deputy Directors of the Office, Tang Jun, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Chen Hao, Deputy Dean of the Faculty, and teachers and students from the College of Foreign Languages visited the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chaoyang District People's Government for exchanges and discussions on March 16.
Tao Lili, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, briefed the attendees on the overview of the district, goals and positioning of internationalization, and international construction resources of Chaoyang District. Tao stated that Chaoyang District is an important window for Beijing, China’s capital city, to open up to the outside world, and that the district has made great strides towards achieving "Three Modernizations" and "Four Areas". She hopes to cooperate with local universities such as Beijing University of Technology to jointly speed up the internationalization construction and development of Chaoyang District. Song Xiaohui and Li Haibo, Deputy Directors of Foreign Affairs Office, as well as officials from various departments, introduced their functions and recent foreign exchange activities.
Si Pengbo introduced the main achievements of the BJUT in international exchange and cooperation and education undertaking over the past few years, and conveyed BJUT's hope of participating in the internationalization construction of Chaoyang District and its aspirations for "serving Chaoyang and Beijing". Tang Jun made an overview of the construction of disciplines, talent cultivation, and scientific research services for the socieity, especially the relevant information about foreign language teachers in the College of Foreign Languages and other units of the Faculty. He proposed ideas and initiatives for the Faculty to participate in international community governance, international exchange activities, and cultivation of globally-visioned talents in Chaoyang District.
During the meeting, both sides expressed their will to having in-depth discussions on the content of co-construction by building an exchange platform, and reached multiple constructive consensus.
