Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences has two Beijing Philosophy and Social Science Research Bases - Beijing Social Governance Research Center and Capital Engineering Education Development Research Base, and the integrated platforms for government-industry-university-research-user cooperation established jointly with the relevant Party and government departments, scientific research institutes and institutions of higher education, such as the Collaborative Innovation Center for Capital Social Construction and Social Management, Beijing Institute of Social Construction, Contemporary China Public Complaint and Social Governance Research Center, Capital Education Integrity Research Center, Capital Higher Engineering Education Research Center, Beijing Social Organization Research Center for Disabled Persons and Beijing Intellectual Property Institute. Relying on provincial and ministerial scientific research bases and platforms for government-industry-university-research-user cooperation, and focusing on the social construction and social work, social management and social policy, engineering education and the development of local high-level universities, the Faculty carries out a series of researches in the theory and applied countermeasures, gives full play to the role of think tank, carefully organizes the brand activities such as "Lu Xueyi Academic Lecture", "Beijing Education Masters Forum" and "Beijing Law Masters Forum", and continuously launches the brand achievements such as Blue Book of Beijing Social Construction, and makes the positive and unique contributions to the social progress and cultural prosperity of the country and the capital.
During the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period (2016-2020), the Faculty made progress in the scientific and technological work, and outstanding achievements in scientific research. 22 national projects and 36 provincial and ministerial projects, 27 general projects of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and 100 projects entrusted by horizontal enterprises and institutions were approved; a total of 23.28 million yuan was spent on scientific research, including 8.99 million yuan for vertical projects (competitive) and 14.29 million yuan for horizontal projects. 112 monographs, edits and translations, and more than 560 papers, including 172 high-level papers such as CSSCI, SSCI and EI were published; 71 research reports or expert suggestions were submitted to the central ministries and commissions and relevant departments of the Beijing Municipal Government, including 15 certificates; 27 scientific research achievements were awarded, including one Youth Achievement of Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award of Institution of Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences) of the Ministry of Education.
