Mao Yueqin, a Student from the Institute of Higher Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Wins the Third Prize in the National Teaching Skills Competition

In order to promote the colleges and universities to pay more attention to the cultivation of postgraduate education and teaching practical ability and continuously strengthen the organization and management of practical teaching, advance the mutual exchange, learning and common development among training institutions, the National Steering Committee for the Education of Postgraduates in Education Specialty held the "Tian Jiabing Cup" Teaching Skills Competition of Full-time Postgraduate in Education Specialty from June to December, 2021. After the fierce competition, Mao Yueqin, a student from the Institute of Higher Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, won the third prize in the category of "Mental Health Education".

A total of 2,436 contestants from 138 universities participated in this teaching skills competition, and 750 contestants were shortlisted for the finals after preliminary evaluation. Mao Yueqin and Li Mengying, postgraduates in the field of mental health education, signed up for the competition. Under the guidance of Li Yuezhi, an off-campus expert, and faculty members Zhu Heling, Su Linqin, Guan Shaohua, etc., Mao Yueqin successfully entered the finals and finally won the third prize of "Mental Health Education".

Teaching Skills Competition provides an opportunity for postgraduates in education to tap their potential and show their elegant demeanour, and also builds an interactive platform for observation, study, discussion and exchange among colleges and universities. The master's degree program in education of Institute of Higher Education will take this competition as a starting point, learn the valuable experience of peer colleges with an open mind, pay attention to "promoting learning through competition", host, undertake or actively participate in the national teaching skills competition, attach importance to the cultivation of students' practical ability in education and teaching, and enhance students' professional ideals and beliefs in education.
