On the afternoon of March 1, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences held an international young tutor symposium in spring semester of 2022. Chen Hao, Deputy Head of the Faculty, five young tutors of international development and relevant personnel of the Office of Foreign Exchange, Cooperation and Information Technology Construction attended the meeting. The meeting also invited three other young faculty members with rich experience in studying abroad to participate in the discussion, and the participants basically covered seven colleges of the Faculty. The symposium was presided over by Chen Hao, Deputy Head of the Faculty.

First of all, Deputy Head Chen Hao delivered a speech, thanking the international young tutors for their contributions to the international development of the Faculty in the past year. In order to enhance the mutual understanding between tutors and young faculty members, everyone made a brief introduction on their professional background and overseas study experience. Deputy Head Chen Hao expressed a hope that faculty members can not only give full play to their expertise in the internationalization of the Faculty in the future, but also help each other and make continuous progress in personal growth and development.

Subsequently, Deputy Head Chen Hao gave a brief introduction from four aspects such as the current situation of internationalization of the Faculty, the objectives of internationalization during the 14th Five-Year Plan, the responsibilities of young tutors for internationalization and the internationalization funding of young tutors by the Faculty. Deputy Head Chen Hao expressed a hope that young tutors and young faculty members with overseas study experience will give full play to the bridge role of returned overseas students in assisting their colleges to develop international exchange partners, create an international atmosphere, and carry out the international talent training and publicity, provide the suggestions for the cultivation of international talents in the Faculty, and the international development consultation and guidance for students, and pass on the international thinking and consciousness to the students in the Faculty.

After that, Wu Yan from the Office of Foreign Exchange, Cooperation and Information Technology Construction gave a detailed introduction from three aspects such as the current global partners of the University, the classification of international exchange programs for undergraduates and postgraduates, and the specific selection process, and briefly answered the questions of tutors or young faculty members in view of the reference documents sent by the international exchange program, the identification of credits and the compliance with key time nodes.

Finally, the young tutors discussed the classification of international projects, the dispatch of organizational systems and the application for scholarships, and put forward effective suggestions on publicizing international projects, organizing student activities and helping students apply for scholarships. Deputy Head Chen Hao gave detailed answers to the questions raised by the faculty members, and expressed a hope that the Office of Foreign Exchange, Cooperation and Information Technology Construction will take this symposium as an opportunity to join hands with young faculty members to bring more exchange partners, deepen exchange content, enhance exchange level and specify exchange services.
